One more time...
Yes, it’s true... “One more time” and we will look back over the past 30 years and say we had an amazing, truly “magical” time together with fun, family and music! Every single one of those festivals have brought us new friends and warm memories. Each festival filled us with the very best bluegrass music on the charts and gave us the opportunity to meet, see and listen to some of the greatest musicians in bluegrass history throughout the world! The festival has brought much joy to so many people and this we are grateful for. If this is going to be your first time with us...we welcome you to the Thomas Point Beach Family!
To mark this monumental year Shari, Mike and I thought it might be fun to add a few extra activities to Festival Week this year...
The Park will open to festival Early Bird Campers earlier this year, starting Friday, August 22nd. Everyone seems to want to be here earlier and earlier to enjoy the beauty of this area and we are happy to have you with us!
Tuesday Night - Please join George, Shari, Jenna, Mike and myself for a casual and intimate “Fireside Chat” at the Caboose Fire Pit. So many funny, strange and wonderful things have happened here throughout the years. Let’s hear your memories and we’ll tell you some of ours. It should really be quite a time of it!
Wednesday Night - We have always wanted to have a giant Pot Luck Supper and Hoe Down! Let’s do it under the Main Tent by the beachfront. You bring your favorite dish to share and we will provide the paper goods, knives, forks, salt and pepper. Don’t forget your appetite! After dinner, how about a little dancing to get into the mood for all the week-end fun. A band hasn’t been arranged just yet but don’t worry...we’ll have one. (Maybe you know of one we should contact?) Let’s have a foot stompin’ good time and get ourselves in the “swing of things” before the festival stage opens on Thursday for all the exceptional bands waiting to entertain us this year!
Thursday Stage Show - The stage is open...come on up! Have you ever dreamed of playing the famous Thomas Point Beach stage? This year could be your chance. Register for the open stage show...No Contest, just a chance to have some fun and “show your stuff”. Why, I’d probably even sing along with you if you wanted.
And then, of course, the FESTIVAL...with headline acts featured each day...WOW! We can not wait!
Yes, the plan is “One more time”...the time feels right.
Everyone keeps reminding us that’s what Michael Jordan, Cher, Garth Brooks, Roger Clemens and all the others said when they said good bye to what they loved most...only to come back again and again! But for right now, with 30 wonderful years, we are bidding farewell...
