Responsibilities

As a member of our Spring Cleanup team, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Raking and mowing the park to prepare it for the upcoming season
• Cleaning facilities and restrooms to ensure they are ready for guests
• Using a variety of light yardwork equipment, such as rakes, brooms, leaf blowers, weed whackers, and mowing equipment
• Working in groups to ensure the park is cleaned to the highest standards
• Attention to detail is ideal

As a Grounds Maintenance employee during the summer season, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Mowing and weed whacking to maintain the park’s appearance
• Cleaning facilities and restrooms to ensure they are clean and sanitary
• Setting up for events, moving picnic tables, and more
• Assisting with various events
• Working with the public and providing excellent customer service

The position requires being on your feet for the majority of the day and may involve heavy lifting and bending over.

Skills/Experience

Our ideal applicants will have a passion for landscaping and/or gardening, but no diploma or specific training or education is required for these positions.  We are looking for hard-working individuals who enjoy seeing the fruits of their labor and are friendly and personable. Applicants with landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, or mechanics skills are highly sought after and may be eligible for additional pay. You must have reliable transportation and be able to work effectively with and without supervision.

Job Benefits

We offer a starting pay of $14.50 per hour, with the potential for more based on specialized trade skills. As an employee of Thomas Point Beach and Campground, you will also enjoy free access to all events during your employment, and your friends and family may also receive discounts to our events (at the discretion of the event producers). Additionally, members hired for the Summer season will receive work overalls and a shoe allowance per our dress code.

Dress Code

Dress code is an important aspect of our work environment. We want our employees to be comfortable while working, but we also prioritize safety and practicality. Therefore, we recommend breathable clothing and sun hats, as well as sturdy closed-toed shoes (sneakers, hiking boots, etc.). Long pants are required, and long-sleeved shirts are recommended.

Since we work outdoors, it’s essential to dress for the weather. During the hotter months, lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal, while during the colder months, layers and warm clothing are necessary. We advise our employees to dress appropriately for the elements, so they can be comfortable and safe while working, especially with power tools and equipment.

Overall, we encourage our employees to dress in a way that is both comfortable and practical, but also respectful of the work environment.

When Can I Start?

We are always looking for exceptional applicants!  Spring Cleanup positions are available beginning April 17th, with the potential for continued employment through the Summer season, beginning Memorial Day.
